What is Sound Healing?

At its most fundamental Sound Healing is the intention to heal through sound. It is the combination of using either ones voice, a group of voices or instruments combined with the intention and dedication to heal so as to allow the body/ mind/ spirit to help itself by inducing a state of homeostasis, thereby allowing balance and healing to occur. Sound healing can be used by anyone for anyone. A person can use their own voice through learning simple toning techniques either on their own or with a group. Healing can also occur through the act of listening, be that as a client receiving sound healing or listening to CD’s dedicated to healing using sound.

Sound Healing is a natural way to treat pain and illness. Sound healing is simple to use and has no harmful side effects. Recent scientific research into sound healing has shown that certain sound frequencies help to heal the body and speed up the body's natural healing process.

A Sound Healing Treatment

A sound healing treatment will last for around one hour. During the treatment you will lie on a therapy couch while the practitioner sounds over you. There will then be a period of silence to allow you to integrate the sound healing.
As a practitioner I will use my voice as well as musical instruments such as Tibetan Singing Bowls, Tuning Forks, Flutes and Harp. I will use a range of sounds to balance different areas of the body. Most people feel deeply relaxed after a sound healing treatment. Sound healing treats the mind, body and spirit.
